pretty peggy-o (with apologies to bob)

i had dinner tonight with friends who told me another, much more ... uhm ... scintillating peggy story than my own related in my previous post. keep in mind that this is one of those stories about a friend of a friend and thus just gets better in the retelling!

friend of a friend, lets call him "ralph", was attending the opening festivities of a premier cultural institution in TO recently. he was seated at a table with peggy and was telling her, with a certain air of 'disgruntled intelligentsia', about a cutting insult he received from a grumpy TO social matron.

"she told me that i was 'sycophantically vicious'!" ralph complained to peggy.

"oh ralph, you've never been a sycophant", peggy responded.

ouch. i think i got off lightly.
