either/oar

the title of this post comes from the a pun found on the front of a popular rowing shirt (the back reads, in a very tiny font: "if you can read this you're rushing your slide") that i blush to confess, i own. the humour is found in the familiar phrase "either/or" being corrupted to refer to the two different kinds of oars that are used in rowing: spoons and blades. the phrase, in its pure form, is all about choice and this dilemma of chosing either A or/oar B resonates with me right now. for days i've been wondering what is more nerve-wracking? the beginning of the school year that is approaching in about two weeks, or our upcoming races at the FISA Masters Worlds in less than a week? i can't decide.
